YOUR AI STAND-IN FOR SOCIAL
Cookies and local storage.
What Understudy puts on your device, and why.
Effective [EFFECTIVE DATE].
Cookies are small pieces of data a site stores in your browser. This page lists what Understudy actually sets today. It is deliberately short, because a signed-in app needs very little.
Essential cookies
These are needed to sign you in and keep your session working. They are not used for advertising or profiling, and the service cannot work without them.
sb-*-auth-token
Keeps you signed in after you enter your email code. Set by our authentication provider, Supabase. It may be split across a few cookies whose names end in .0, .1 and so on.
Essential · Until it expires or you sign outOur authentication provider's cookies are set as secure, HTTP-only and same-site, which means they are sent only to us over HTTPS and cannot be read by page scripts.
What we store in your browser
We also use your browser's local storage, which is not a cookie and is not sent with every request. It holds working data so the app does not lose your place, such as your in-progress draft, the format and settings you last chose, and saved prompt text. Clearing your browser storage removes it and you may need to re-enter that detail.
Analytics and consent
We intend to use Google Analytics 4 and Microsoft Clarity to understand how the product is used and to find faults. Neither is enabled yet. When they are:
- they will be switched off until you agree to them, and you will be able to change or withdraw that choice at any time;
- they will receive page views and product events such as a completed signup, a submitted creation, or a started checkout;
- they will not receive your email address, sign-in codes, prompts, uploads, payment details or private media links;
- Clarity recordings will have sensitive areas of the workspace masked.
Analytics identifiers in use, once enabled: Google Analytics 4 measurement ID [GA4 MEASUREMENT ID], Microsoft Clarity project ID [CLARITY PROJECT ID].
Managing your choices
- You can refuse or withdraw analytics consent from the consent control in the site footer or in your account. Refusing optional analytics does not affect your ability to use Understudy.
- You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking the essential sign-in cookie will stop you staying signed in.
- Browser settings for "do not track" and similar signals are respected where the law requires it.
What we do with any data these tools collect is described in the privacy policy. Questions to contact@understudy.my.
Changes
We will update this page and its date before enabling any additional cookie, and we will tell account holders by email before optional tracking starts.
